What kind of salary do you expect after obtaining an M.A. in TESOL?

I did a little research before entering the program and found that the right school will offer the right salary. Some schools overseas will not only offer the right salary but also offer housing, car allowance, insurance and two paid vacations a year tickets included. Keep in mind you can make up to 90,000 tax free each year while working overseas.

What do you expect or what have you found?

  1. I think the salary that you earn depends on what you are willing to settle for and the conditions that you are willing to work with. I have found several jobs that have a decent salary, such as 40,000 a year, with 25 hours of teaching and 15 hours of teacher preparation. However, at least in my perspective, they require that you like like a clown to work with certain students in a very comical manner. I have found other positions that expect you to work 60 hours a week for 8 bucks an hour. Other locations are willing to pay 90,000 bucks, but if your not of the countries' nationality, your paranoia may be extremely high. Personally, I would go to China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Philippines, or South Korea. The pay may not be 90 000 a year, but at least I'll find some non-paranoid happiness there.
